Hi All,
I've got an Unbuntu 12 LTS server that I'm trying to integrate into our Orion NPM, but while snmpd is running on the linux box, and it is transmitting snmp network data our Orion system, It's not collecting any network traffic data.
Orion does correctly display information in the "Node Details" section, so there must be some transfer of snmp data. In addition to that, I can perform an snmpwalk from another host on the same 192.168.0.0/16 network, and I do get a flood of information, but I'm sort of wondering if there might be something wrong... I downloaded the mibs, and saw them download: Is it possible that there's something that needs to be installed, either on Solarwinds to "translate" between Ubuntu's format and another that it understands? The reason I ask is that the mib output of snmpwalk looks VERY different between examples I've seen from Centos/RedHat. For instance, I keep seeing output from (what I believe are Centos/RH) that looks like this, for the sysDescr & OID:
SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Linux bigboy 2.4.18-14 #1 Wed Sep 4 11:57:57 EDT 2002 i586
SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: NET-SNMP-MIB::netSnmpAgentOIDs.10
SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (425) 0:00:04.25
Where the same snmp objects displayed in Ubuntu's "snmpwalk" appear like this (from snmpwalk)
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 = STRING: "Linux zmail1 3.13.0-32-generic #57~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 15 03:51:20 UTC 2014 x86_64"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0 = OID: iso.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 = Timeticks: (552525) 1:32:05.25
Solarwinds MUST understand Ubuntu's snmp, since the above information is displayed in the node details. Maybe I need to change something, but Solarwinds does reference eth0 as the interface it's monitoring, and that's the interface that is being used. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
For instance, I've been using wget to download a 7+GB iso image to generate some traffic. Here's what Solarwinds displays:

As you can see, it doesn't appear that there's been any traffic. However, a screenshot of the "Check_MK" monitor displays:

And of course, there is currently network traffic being received on eth0 as can be seen from a quick snapshot from vnstat.

I've searched all through Thwack trying to find something, but I simply haven't been able to do so. The snmp is definately responding to Solarwinds, but how can I get Orion & NPM to display the information?
Thanks in advance,
