Data collection terminated

All,

I have a couple of switches that Orion report Data collection terminated and then Data collection restarted on all interfaces. Anyone got a clue here?

There could be more than one reason, but I see on the screenshot I would say the index table has changed.

These interfaces will start off with one index value, and change without warning to a totally different index. What can be done to avoid this? While most devices do not change the IF:Index table, there are some that do, which can result in the frustration of having to re-add the interfaces.  This is particularly common with the Cisco Catalyst Switches running CatOS.  
This can be changes on the Catalyst switches by enabling SNMP IFINDEX PERSISTENCE.  If you are not sure how to do this, or you are using a different device, please contact the vendor to see if they have a similar command.I hope this has helped you.Kind Regards Oliver White
