Would anyone happen to know if there is any work in getting some sort of configurable dependancies/relationships configured between objects.. For instance if you have 30 devices that are dependant on 1/2 upstream switches to be integrated for possible use into map maker or even better maybe a future disaster simulation function. For example have a mode where you have a link or device down and view its impact on the network.
I find that Solarwinds is extremely useful for realtime monitoring, however there are some things that I still have to rely on with other NMS products. For instance if I have Switch with two power supplies and one of the power supplies goes off , I can receive the snmp trap or monitor a MIB however it doesnt automatically link to a device and change its state from green to yellow. - unless i just havent found out how.
