NPM APC UPS SNMP Read String

Question

Hello all,

I was curious if anyone here has been able to or has heard of a way that will allow Solarwinds NPM tool to monitor APC UPS Battery Percentage? I'm a Network Analyst and I need it to see if remote locations UPS Battery is close to dead and be proactive about down time instead of reactive?

Yes you definitely can monitor battery percentage with NPM.  Assuming you already have the device set up with snmp and added to NPM then you would need to set up a Universal Device Poller on your polling server.  See this post from a couple years ago for how to do set up a custom APC poller.

1 - See the devices support SNMP protocol, if yes you can to monitor, I no know if have agent for to monitor these device.

2- Create a VPN for to acesses this devices network

3- add in  Orion server.
