We want to run the SCOM management pack to connect our Orion installation with SCOM. However, we seem to have three issues preventing this:
1 - The management pack must tbe installed on the RMS. We have a significant SCOM implementation and do not want connectors to other systems installed on the RMS for performance reasons.
2 - Our RMS is on a cluster. This is not supported. Although I did see a post that someone was able to get it to work. However, we don't want to have and unsupported configuration with our SCOM cluster.
3 - The cluster is running 64 bit Server 2003 nodes. Running the Orion MP is not supported on 64 bit servers.
Is there any way we can get the management pack to run on a management server, not the RMS. We have several of these running 32 bit windows and not clustered. The only problem is the Orion service for SCOM is looking for the SCOM SDK service running on the localhost. Other connectors that we have used are able to connect to the SDK service on the RMS from a management server. What would it take to modify the MP to make this work?
