How can we recover or replace our SQL server SA password? We might be using a default password - the man who installed the software left without documenting the password.
Can you help me?
I have used psexec before to get access to a "broken" sql server.
Recover access to a SQL Server instance
Wow - our brain trust worked on this for weeks. Your response was very quick. We need to talk about this, have meetings, do lunch - before we can try this out.
It looks like the answer.
Thank you.
I will update the correct answer - field and anything else once my brain trust tries out the update.
Thank you!
MProbus,
Andrew

I have run PsExec but nothing has happened. Does that method work with SQL Server 2016? Thanks!
I've spent several hours and still couldn't figure it out. Afterwards, I used another method to recover access to my sa account.
Reset SQL Server password in single-user mode
Problem solved!
