Disappearing interfaces

I had about 10,500 elements spread accross two polling engines (6300 on the primary and about 4200 on the other) until recently.

 Yesterday, I discovered that NO interfaces were being monitored by the secondary polling engine.

 I've been running 8.0.2 for several weeks with no problems.  If it was the database, both polling engines would have been affected.

All devices were still there, and the CPU of my network devices was being monitored, but that's it.

 Does anyone have ANY idea how something like this could happen ?

Have you checked the secondary polling engine Services?

Start> SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor> Advanced Features> Shutdown NetPerfMon   <---sounds scary, but it just pops up a window that displays the service(s) status... (should have been named somthing like Check NetPerfMon)

 If everything is in a running state you have two options:

1. flatout re-boot the secondary polling engine server.

2. run the Configuration wizard on the secondary polling engine.
