Hi,
I am trying to come up with a sort of summary/key items page. My directive is to put together a page that has a 'live' map on it with all of our network devices and servers. I know (after being told 10 different answers by support) that the icons will not change on the map if the node has an "issue", thus having the 4 color changes makes no sense, from what I was told it was either Green = good, Red = down, or possibly "unknown", that devices won't go into the warning(yellow) state on the live map.
So I was wondering if anyone has some good examples/ideas of how they setup a home page for people in a NOC environment and also for executive mgmt. These folks want a page that has all the systems on a map and then the key items such as "down nodes", nodes with problems, etc.
I don't want to add nodes with problems or down nodes if I don't have to, because that is more screen space, does anyone know the difference in what will go into nodes with problems? Will nodes with high memory, high cpu, or low disk space go there?
I also have the APM and Netflow modules, so I want to tie in a couple key items on the home summary page as needed.
I am working on a server map, but I can't think of anything aside from just doing one that has a graphic for each server. Trying to put lines in that tie each server to the core switch seems like it will get to "busy" on the screen, anyone have examples of what you have done?
I have a network map done and it looks "fair", I wouldn't say great because it has the key routers, network links - 1 per direction, and then the core office router in a nice circular map.
But I want a good home page that looks much better, anyone with screenshots or whatnot that is willing to post them or give me some ideas, I would REALLY appreciate it.
