Additional polling engine 30 days free license available or not ?

Hi team,

we have huge infra structure in my organization. we are monitoring with lot of HP tools and solarwinds. will planning complete migration HP to solarwinds all infrastructure.

I have one query- Additional polling engine 30 days trail free license available or not . If yes where is it available(Like customer portal or demo console)

Could you pleases clarify.

Hi kishore574 yes that is correct if you are already one of the SolarWinds Orion products then you can download the Scalability Engine and trial an APE for 30 days.

When you install an Orion Platform product, you can try a fully functional product for the trial period using an evaluation license. The evaluation period for most Orion Platform products takes 30 days. It begins when you install the product and do not have a commercial license activated. You can verify the amount of time remaining for the evaluation in the License Manager.

Thanks for prompt response. Where is it available APE 30 days free licences and product ?

if yes - where will we go to like customer portal or solarwinds site or please provide link.

Where is it APE free product available ?

Presently we have one main poller and one APE.we are planning another 5 APE's. so first we have to down load the 30 days free ape license.

Could you please confirm...

Hi kishore574 so the way you install APE's varies slightly depending on the product versions you are running, but they use the SolarWinds Scalability Engine to check the compatibility with your Main Polling Engine (MPE) and then ensure it installs the same versions. The best place to download the installer is from your MPE Web Site - Goto Settings > All Settings > Polling Engines. In the top right corner will be a DOWNLOAD Link, which you can download and run from the new Additional Polling Engine.

Word of warning - The fact you already have an Additional Polling Engine might mean that you do NOT get a 30-day evaluation. If when you installed that APE the license was already in the license store it would not have consumed your Evaluation key, but if you did it after you might find that the system will see that you already used the evaluation. If you know you need an additional 5 x APE's you should purchase the licenses first, to ensure you can enter them into the License Manager otherwise your installation might fail at the Configuration Wizard stage.
