Is it possible to have a custom map per node without creating a view for every node?

So we are making network diagrams and when you click on a node and go to node details I want to add a map to that page of the of the corresponding diagram. Currently it is the same node on every page. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Create a custom field and some how link the map with that custom field is "mapurl" value like "">orion/.../MapView.aspx and the view embeds that. (?) I figure it's possible, but I don't know how.
