Poller Rename

Question

I am working to rename and re-ip my Orion servers.  What is the best way to implement this to have the shortest amount of downtime considering that the Orion pollers are licensed by name? Can i just change the name of the poller in the database directly?

One of the things that I am worried about is once the rename and re-ip take place the poller will be assigned a different engine ID and i will have to shuffle the nodes over to the "new " poller.  There has to be an easier way to do this without all of this work. I am thinking that once the name changes and the IP changes, the polling engine ID will not be the same and Orion will look at the server as a new poller.  Which in turn means I will have to write some SQL queries to change the Polling engine ID in the database to be what the old one was.

Rather than changing directly in Datbase i would suggest you to run the configuration wizard again once you have made the Server name and IP change.

This way you will not end up in loosing your server license.
