Advanced Alerts - "Does not Contain" and "Does not Start with"

Strangely missing from the advanced alerts is the ability to filter based on "Does not contain" and "Does not Start with. This could prove to be very useful. For example, in the following screenshot I'm attempting to create an alert trigger on Xmit of any interface reaching 80% or greater, except interfaces that contain or start with "VLAN" but it doesn't seem possible.

old thread...but i am looking for the same functionality...except for tunnel interfaces. i want to monitor them...but really don't need to get an alert if they go down.

Bump as I'm looking for "does not start with" for an alert I use to monitor partition utilization greater than 85%. We don't want alerts for our pagefiles (P drives). I'd like to weed those out by using a "does not start with P:\". Please help.

Steve, this has been discussed elsewhere but I'll go ahead and repeat it. You can do this already by using a condition group set to none and then making the "starts with" a subcondition of that, so the alert might look something like:

alert when ALL of the following apply:

utilization is greater than 85%

Alert when NONE of the following apply:

drive caption starts with "P:\"

Think of it like a boolean statement which they tried (and I think failed) to make more readable. This would essentially create IF ((utilization > 85%) AND (NOT(Caption = "P:\*"))) then ALERT. So IF (TRUE) AND (NOT TRUE).

Does that make sense?

yes - that makes perfect sense. I've made the change and tried testing but received no alert. I'm guessing that is because I have my alert frequency set to 24 hours. The last alert I received was yesterday at 3:11pm Central. I'm guessing I'll receive my next alert at that same time today.
