First of all I'm new to this forum and don't want to upset anyone - however.....

Is it just me or does anyone else think that this forum would benefit from more input from SolarWinds themselves ?

While it's good to see the view's and read the experiances of other users, there are times when you have an issue that other end users may not be able to help with. On these occasions, it would be nice if a SolarWinds engineer could add his view/advice etc.

There seem to be a large number of posts from users with zero replies and long running thread requesting features (custom MIBs in particular) where I'm sure a little feedback would be appreciated.

I agree. Josh and Don do post to questions from time to time but I think they (SW) could maybe have someone review posts and better respond to them or a more regular basis.

It would be a big help.

I don't know of too many other large companies that have the owner posting in a technical forum (although it would be good to know if custom MIB support is even in the plans - Yes or No?).

As for the lack of updates of future Orion developments, one can only assume they are wont to release this info due for competitive advantage reasons?

I hear ya NG. I still think their tech support could review this maybe once a day .

As for a lack of future Orion developments...I think it's reasonable for them to notify paying customers with support contracts on what's coming up. I mean even Cisco provides product roadmaps to their customers and I'm sure their competitiors don't have access to that info. I know it would not be appropriate to post that here for anyone to read but thos paying customers should be kept up to date. My .02.

My guess is they want customers to phone or e-mail for tech support and keep this forum for customers to provide feedback and exchange ideas. Of course, as in most forums, there are users(not necessarily customers) questions which are already answered in the documentation or previous posts. I feel Solarwinds has a great product, hence my numerous posts and support in these forums. However I do think they could respond to users requests for features. At least let us know they are listening?

As far as the Product Development, I was thinking the same thing Bryan.
Even if it meant having paying customers sign NDA's.

We are glad to speak to you one-on-one about upcoming releases and new features. We do this all the time. But, we are not permitted to post this information on a public forum until very close to the actual release date.

How about emailing the information to your paying customers that have a support contract with you? I don't want to waste time of your staff with questions until I'd had a chance to read over the new features and so forth.

Whats the least ETA on 7.6 release?

As of January 20th, the 7.6 release has no outstanding issues.

I believe the Testing Group has signed off on it and is waiting for final release OK from Support.
