Send traps, netflow to multiple polling engines?

I have a question regarding multiple pollers.  We have our primary NPM server and an additional poller.  Both have the Netflow traffic analysis module installed, and both are receiving traps from nodes.  What would be the affect if I directed all network devices, regardless of which poller they were assigned to, to send traps & netflow data to both pollers?  I'm looking for two things:  (a) easier config mgmt by not having to decide which poller to send trap/netflow data to, and (b) redundancy - in the event a poller goes down, I can still receive traps and netflow data (in theory).

I wasn't sure if this causes duplicate data, has the desired affect of recognizing the data was from the same source and only writing it once, or has no affect at all.

Having them both receiving and processing the data at the same time would lead to duplicate data as well as possible other problems.  For redundancy you can configure this way but have the netflow and traps services stopped on the poller.  Then you can start them if the other poller goes down.
