I am upgrading our Orion installation from 8.0 to 8.5. This required moving the database from the Orion server (which was running SQL 2000 MSDE) to our SQL 2000 Enterprise server.
I backed up the database per instructions in the "Moving Your Orion NPM Database" PDF document. I did not bother with truncating the tables as the database is small (200-300MB) and the document stated if you're not having problems then truncation is not necessary. This is good since I know pretty much nothing about SQL.
Anyway, I successfully moved the database to the SQL 2000 server and ran the configuration wizard to connect to it. Everything went fine until about halfway through the database upgrade I received the following error:
Error while executing script - Invalid column name 'NodeID'
This error occurs while processing the OrionCoreDatabaseScheme.dbConfig file.
If I click OK on the error the process stalls at that point and I have the option to Finish or go Back. If I go Back and try the process again I stop at the same point. If I click Finish it asks for confirmation to exit the Configuration Wizard.
What could be causing this error? I've contacted support and was assured that the process was still continuing, but it is not. It's been almost 6 hours that I waited to see if it would continue and this is only a 300MB database. The process has not completed and I need the server back in a useable state. Any ideas is appreciated. Thanks!
