Importing Images Into Network Atlas?

I am trying to see if I can import a map of a school district into network atlas. What I have is a jpeg file, would suffice? Or are there strict regulations on what kind of image format I can import? I'm getting a hands on experience with it next week, I just want to make sure I have the right image file for the map.

Jpegs work fine for importing as a background file.  Found this in an admin guide for Network Atlas:

Supported formats l Graphics Interchange Format (.gif, non-animated) l Tagged Image File Format (.tiff) l Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg) l Microsoft Windows Bitmap (.bmp) l Portable Network Graphics (.png)
