Hi everyone,
So I am having a couple of weird issues. The first is related to a few of my Cisco devices which seem to have some issue with Orion NPM. The switches 29xx and APs were fine being monitored via SNMP but then they went into alarm. For some reason the devices stopped talking to SNMP. Between myself and the network engineers we couldn't find anything wrong. The devices were functioning normally. I deleted the nodes and re-added them but they would only respond to ping. After a few polling cycles they went yellow and then red again. You can ping the units fine from your desktop or from the Orion server command line, but for some reason Orion can't poll the units. Any thoughts? I also got rid of the data packet just in case it was too much overhead. Other devices of the same type on the same network work fine, and the configs have been determined to be identical. I am using NPM 10.1.1.
Second question I have is what is the method for demoting a node from SNMP to ICMP? All the documentation seems to be about promoting from ICMP to SNMP, but not the other way around. I don't want to delete and re-add the node again as I losa any historical data.
Thanks!
Len
