Can NPM groups be used in NCM

We use NCM as part of our Solarwinds installation.  We have a requirement to use the Configuration Management window

to select certain NPM groups?  Can this be done?  When we use the "Group by" pull down on the NCM Configuration Management window,

there does not seem to be the ability to sort by Groups.  Can this be done?

I think the best way to do this would be to create a new custom property for your NPM environment and assigning the name for each group to the appropriate nodes.  IMO this is worth the effort as it makes other things easier like isolating nodes for alerts or NCM compliance reports.
