V8. Alert based on Custom MIB Poller Value?

I have been successful in polling custom MIBs. Great job!

Now I want to create an Alert if the value of a certain OID is greater than X. I know to change the type of alert to Custom MIB Poller however I do not see a way to set the logic that if OID X > value Y trigger the alert.

Ideas?

Okay, looks like I have a grasp on this now. For anyone else here is an example since the documentation is a bit lacking on the Custom MIB poller usage on alerting.

First be sure to change the alert type from the default of Node to custom MIB Poller.

Trigger When ALL Apply
->Status is greater than 0
-->Trigger When ANY Apply
--->PollerName is equal to upsTimeOnBattery

The key is the Status being the custom MIB poller status and the poller name being the name of the poller you created. You can also use OID or any of the other options. Remember that this Custom MIB Poller will only exist for nodes you assigned it to so actually alerting is pretty easy since you do not necessarily have to specify not criteria.

Yeah you can do that. under the trigger condition tab you'll see a pull down menu that defaults to "Node" change it to "Custom Node Poller" and you have all the regular syntax available. You said you got custom pollers to work I've been able to use the "Get Next" to get values but not the "get" can you use the "get" Solarwinds support seems to have taken their phones off the hook as soon as this version was released and no ones calling me back.

My understanding is that is the OID you are going after is not a table then GET NEXT is the ticket. If you have a specific OID that is a table you need to use the GET with the specific index in the OID. We are new to Orion here but trying to get up to speed quickly.

We are aware of this problem with using Get with custom MIB pollers. A fix should be available shortly.
