Is there a way to separate the syslog data repository into its own database? There are a few threads that ask about this but there was never a solid answer.
Thanks
This is not a supported configuration. What's the problem you're trying to solve with a separate database?
i turned one firewall on to debug and the pollers completion went down from mid 99% to low 99%figured i'd check out the options. perhaps it is because everything runs through NPM machine.
Just trying to figure out what the boundries are.
I'd like to solve performance issues. When I had the Orion syslog turned on, the performance of the DB instance went to hell. When I stopped forwarding syslogs to it, it has been solid ever since.
Would be nice if the syslogs could live in their own database, on another server.
Sending syslogs to a database is generally viewed as bad anyway, unless you have dedicated high I/O hardware for it. If the syslog database could be put on another dedicated host, in my opinion that would be ideal.
