AIX 5.x Process monitoring

I would like to see native support in Orion for AIX 5.x server process monitoring. This information can be polled using uDP in Orion 9.0, but, as far as I know, there are no plans to provide mapping for uDP polled data. Whereas APM mapping is planned for the near future.

I understand the need to standardize on the RFCs for SNMP. But in some cases you guys need to understand the needs of your enterprise customers. We have a number of AIX 5.x servers that we would like to monitor. I am sure that there are larger environments who have many more than us. Installing net-snmp, a non native package, on the AIX servers is out of the question for our environment.

On our roadmap, we intend to allow users to be able to configure new pollers to work more like out-of-the-box pollers.

Has this progressed much in the year it has been out there? We are evaluating Solarwinds but half of our infrastructure is AIX.. We need application level monitoring of this in addition to the cpu and memory.

APM 2.5 can monitor applications on AIX. What is it you would like to do that you can't do?

Have you resolved the problem with monitoring an AIX 5.x server via SNMP? I also have hundereds of AIX servers that I need to monitor via Solarwinds.... We are on the current release of NPM and APM..... still not having any luck with SNMP on the AIX servers....
