Extra Menu Bar Space

I've now got 11 items on my Orion menu bar and need to add others.

Does anyone know if you can add extra tabs to the menu bar or have a menu within a menu bar selection? Or any other way of making the use of the space on the menu bar more efficient?

What I would Ideally like is a tab for the Network Support, one for Applications Support, one for Server Support and on for PACS\RIS. So these tabs can then have specifics for each speciality and default tab can have general alerts, reports etc on it.

Is it possible to restrict by user access to a tab for instance could I restrict access to the PACS\RIS tab to the Radiology department login?

all tabs become available to all users. It would then boil down to a users rights as to which nodes they can view.

Hi Jon,

Why not create separate Cutom Menu Bars for each department & assign them to their user profile? Is there some reason why they must first login to the Global menu bar with all network devices listed before going to their custom tab?

I have menu bars customized for different groups/departments with filters on the views & pages, so that they only see what they need to & are not overwhelmed with alerts & alarms for devices they don't manage.

Just my 2 cents worth....

That was the exact way I was going to do it until I was informed that the different departments need access to each others menu bars and it wasn't good enough for them to either keep logging in and out again or have multiple pages open.

So the multi-tab was the best solution.

Hiya, so can we get the details of how we can add extra tabs?
Thats definately something I would like to do since I have several Menu bars that I'd like the same people to be able to flip between them easily because we support many different depts.

We need the availability to add tabs or organize the menu bar better. Tabs would be great though.

Sorry, that's not in the next release, but we are planning to add some new functionality to the menu bar. Not tabs, more likely drop-down menus.

have there been any updates on this since 2008? We are using version 10 and i am not seeing how to add more tabs.
