Just wanted to let you know that I have installed version 10 and really did not have any challenges thus far. I am quite impress of the installation. This version has picked up my vmware 3.5 servers with no issues either. Great work!!
Nevermind just read down the documentation.
Thanks for your post. I'll let PM know.

Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
Couple of follow-ups for you. How do you like the new features? What didn't you like?
I am impressed with the VMware snmp information. We use the top 10 list constantly and would like to see some type of chart on vmware information group together. Disk usage/cpu usage/ect.... Something at a glance.
I would like to see some other type of network map. The world just does not do it for the Mentor Public School District. Maybe you could have some type of building style. We have 14 locations that are all tied together with AT&T network. I would like to see a map of school buildings connected (or not if it is down).
Thanks again!
Have you looked at Network Atlas (available from Start Menu on Orion Server). It provides you with the ability to upload any background you like (e.g. buildings) and drag nodes to show status on your custom map.
Also, you might check out this post on how to integrate Google Maps.
Hi Chris,
Do you know if there is any information on when v10 will become a GA release? I'm a bit reluctant to install the RC onto my production environment without knowing what it's bugs and fixes are...is there a features list available anywhere or do you have a list of current issues / bugs with v10 which you could share so I can see the impact that upgrading now would have?
I've been having quite a few issues since upgrading to v9.5 and am eagerly awaiting v10 in the hope it will resolve quite a few of them.
Also, anyone who's testing / using it i'd appreciate any comments on the build!!
Cheers Guys
What is up with the topology connection in the v10 altlas. This was talked about abd touted in the webinar, but does not seem to work. I tried it with several devices I know are directly connected and when I selected these and clicked connection, it says no connections found!!
Over the last two weeks we've performed 2 fresh NPM v10 RC installs and 2 upgrades from 9.5 for clients. All of them have been very impressed with the new console design. 1 Client in particular selected v10 for its ability to process trap details as a result of the new trap viewer features. We deployed on both Windows 2003 and 2008 with both SQL 2005 and 2008 and saw only one instance of some system instability on one server which is running in a VM where LSASS.EXE was intermittently consuming excessive CPU. The issue is still being investigated, and is not impacting overall Orion usability.
Favorite new features would have to be VMWare VSphere support, scheduled discovery and ConnectNow in Network Atlas a close third.
Congratulations to the development team on a great product that provides a smooth and satisfying upgrade experience!!

Bill, thanks for the post! Regarding the LSASS.EXE issue, is this customer running APM? If so, they should upgrade to APM 3.5 which should be available in their customer portal today as well.
Yes, they do have APM and I should have mentioned we did install the RC for that as well, but the issue was still occurring. We've since wrapped up the engagement so they will simply open a ticket if it continues to be an issue. Again, it wasn't preventing them from using the product, just hampering performance periodically.
Hi,
Must say I upgrade our orion servers to V10 and APM 3.5 yesterday. Was one of the smoothest upgrades I have ever encountered, while not a feature rich upgrade the performance improvement is worth the upgrade - so wanted to say thank you.
I must also thank you for the Radius and Tacacs+ monitors , those are great.
Colours in maps a little odd, the green comes out much duller. Not a big issue though.
Small item is that with the new menu bars it would be great if you could remove it totally for NOC screens.
Regards
