Node properties question
iaminit
when you create maps to monitor your nodes, is there a way to customize what gets displayed when you hover over a monitored device through the web interface? For instance, when you put your mouse over a monitored server, it tells you the name, ip address, status, and vendor.
Is it possible to customize what gets displayed with this mouse over function?

Thats a great question. I know you can use labels to get more information using macros...

thanks. I hadn't noticed that my original post had gotten a reply. I went to the MapToolTipTemplates.asp for the admin page and I see where it lets you modify, but I don't see where the original settings are. I'm a little hesitant to mess with it if I can't undo it. Maybe if I just make a backup of that file I will be alright. Has anyone played with this with any success?

yes we have these set up
Ckt: ${Circuit_Id}${CR}MAC: ${PhysicalAddress}${CR}IP: ${IPAddress}${CR}Port: ${SwitchPort}${CR}In: ${Inbps}${CR}Out: ${Outbps}${CR}Max In: ${MaxInBpsToday}${CR}Max Out: ${MaxOutBpsToday}

You can add this feature (among a few others) to the menu on the left side of the admin page.

ok, I got it working so it displays what I want when I put my mouse over the node. This is a really nice feature. However, is there a way to tell the code not to display that particular variable if there is no value for it?
for example, if I have a custom property for circuit id's for nodes, every node I have on the map will display that when I do a mouse-over, but obviously only the nodes with an actual value will have any info. I have a lot of servers being monitored and it just comes up with an empty value for circuit id's. I'd like to be able to turn it off. Is this possible? I didn't know if maybe there was some special syntax to the code that is put in?
