Additional Polling Engine

We're looking into moving our Polling Engine onto another server. just curious if anyone knows the system requirements for it. I don't know if it's the same as the requirements for the SLX found here (http://solarwinds.net/products/orion/sysreq.aspx), but I would assume they'd be lower. Thanks in advance.

Per the online manual--

"While the SLX version is not limited in the number of elements that it can manage in terms of licensing, there is performance limitations on how many elements can be managed based on the server hardware. Current technology limits management to an estimated 6,000 – 8,000 elements per SLX polling engine."

The guidelines in the link you posted are very general, and it really depends on how your environment it set up. Where you have the SQL DB, where you're hosting the web site, number of elements, and polling frquency all play a part in it. I would say that it's a good guideline for the additional polling engines as well, but you may be able to go a little lighter depending on your polling requirements.
