'Reports' Page Issue(s)

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this issue but on Orion 8.1.0 with hotfix 2&3 applied our reports page seems broken. Hotfix 1 breaks the website. When you click the Reports link on the Menu Bar the top frame disappears. None of the reports generate either - we get a blank page. Running the CW and reinstalling the web site does not change the issue. Tested in IE6/7 and FF2.x.

I may have a fix for you based on case #15364;

Deleting traffic analysis's zip file seemed to do the trick after running the website configuration wizard again. The banners returned and my vbscript errors were resolved.

There is a folder called TrafficAnalysis-Website.zip . It should be located in C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion ; although you may have to do a search for it. Delete this folder (don't rename it to .old - delete it. You don't need it for anything) and re-run the website portion of the configuration wizard. This should take care of the VBS script errors; if you're still running on a port other than 80, you will need hotfix 1.

The following map and report issues have been identified and workarounds can be found below:

Not Seeing Maps in the Web Console

If you uninstalled your previous version of Orion manually, the setup program does not find and does not migrate your maps and reports to the new directory structure. You will not see maps or reports in the Web Console until you copy your maps folder and reports folder from the previous directory structure to the new directory structure. The old default location was: \program files\solarwinds\Network Performance Monitor v7. The new default installation location is: \program files\solarwinds\Orion.

Reports with Custom Properties

After upgrading, reports that use custom properties do not automatically load the updated schema files and do not show data.

To reload the schema files used by reports, complete the procedure in the Missing Custom Properties from User Interfaces section of the release notes.

Although your post is helpful, Matt08, It is not relevant to this specific problem.

The "Menu" bar at the top of the page is completely missing from both maps and reports. My map files and sql report files have been transitioned easily and without trouble.

That's the only issue I have, the menu bar has vanished.

No problem jp. I guess I jinxed myself or something because none of my custom reports are showing on the web page anymore?? I can view, design, and execute them with no problems from Orion Report Writer, but if I go to our web page and select one of the reports I get the following error.

Invalid Filter.
Field not specified or invalid

You need to fix the Filter first.

Any ideas or suggestions? My web page is on a separate server than the Orion report writer.

Updating the report schemas
allows Report Writer to display and use custom property information.

You might try to update your
report schemas for the custom properties:

1. Ensure that the Report
Writer is closed, and then click Start > SolarWinds
Network Performance Monitor > Advanced Features > Custom Property Editor.

2. Right-click on the toolbar,
and then click Customize

3. Click the Commands tab.

4. Click the Properties in the
category list, and then drag Update Report Schemas to the toolbar to add a new
button to the toolbar.

5. Close the Customize window.

6. Click Update Report Schemas
on the toolbar.

7. Click OK after the custom
properties have been added to the report schemas, and then close Custom
Property Editor.
