Report Designer - Custom Poller Values as Fields

I'm trying to create a report based on the results of some custom node pollers and a transform. The transform gives me the number of hours (.tenth of hours) since the last time an interface changed states.

In the Report Designer, "Select Fields Tab", I added two fields:

Node Name with no sort and no function

The second field, I'm unsure of. Currently I have "Custom Poller, Custom Node Pollers, Minimum Rate". I sort ascending, and use function "MIN". I don't really want the min for the time period though - I want the latest value, but that doesn't appear to be avaialble. The value isn't a rate either, but I don't have any other options, and that selection does map to my raw data.

So that doesn't exactly give me the report I want, but it gives me somthing to work with. Then, I tried to filter the report from the "Filter Results" tab. If I add the filter "Records where field Minimum Rate is less or equal to constant 24", the report doesn't work at all and gives an error about a date - even though this filter has nothing to do with dates (the value is TIME, but as far as Solarwinds knows it's just a DECIMAL value.)

Can anyone help?

dont have the ability to select the custom poller in report writer.

If you are running the latest version of NPM, you should open a support ticket for this.

Do i have to use SQL scripts for this?

Meanwhile the above problem to be fixed, please find below an example of a SQL query I am working on with Adam (It might not work for you depending how you setup your UnDP (Labels, Historic Stats, etc...)):

Hi,

Have you tried the following? Configure your Transform poller to not store historical stats or create a another transform poller that only keeps the latest value.

Select Fields

Node Name

Interface Name

Status (From Custom Pollers (Current Status) > Custom Interface Pollers > Status)

Filter Results

Poller Name is equal to NameOfYourTransformPoller

To select "Poller Name" : Custom Pollers (Current Status) > Custom Interface Pollers > Poller Name

Report Grouping

Add the Node Name.

If that does not work, I advise you to open a support ticket and have someone work on the report with you.

It is easier to build a report when you can access the database and see how Custom Pollers results are stored among the tables.

I'll have to open a ticket....

I turned off "Keep Historical Data" for my poller, and changed the select field. This is a node poller, not an interface poller so I tried the "status" under both interface and node pollers. Both return status "unknown" for all nodes (except one node when using interface->status - it comes back as 'shutdown')

I would think I should be able to keep historic data and still get the most recent value for the reporting vs. dumping the history can getting the only value.
