Masking alarms for redundant links

Bit of a shot in the dark this one but...
We have redundant links between our core devices (closed down by spanning tree) is there a way of masking the alarm for the redundant links? ie so both interfaces are monitored and we can see when one goes down the other comes up, without the redundant link showing an alarm? It would be nice if we only saw an alarm when there was a change from one link to the other.
