I changed the Volume-ID of one of my monitored disks. Now I can't remove the old one-- can't find any place that gives me the opportunity to unselect it.
The volume labeled "22533bef" no longer exists.
Any suggestions?
John
It seems there is a redundant row in the Volumes table for this node.
If you are comfortable doing this in SQL (Full Backup of database is needed of course) then track down the NodeID of the server in the Nodes table. The open the Volumes table and check for the same NodeID. It will have the old label listed and you can then delete it.
If you are not 100% comfortable doing this then ask your DBA or log a Support Ticket.
Yeah, I'm fine with that. Just seems like a jagged edge.
Thanks
I have been having this happen a lot with interfaces as well. Started happening after I installed the trial of UDT, then un-installing UDT has totally trashed NPM. Been working with support for weeks.
I am having this same issue. This appears to be a regular maintenance issue which I've performed in the past, and SW is now suggesting we edit the SQL DB directly??
It seems to me that this was easy to do in the system manager before it was crippled by "progress".
I'm sorry, I had to get my dig in considering I'm coming down from the shock of losing quite a bit of System Manager functionality with the last upgrade to 10.1.3
I am guessing the inability to remove old resources was simply overlooked.
I will be a mourner of the System Manager and it's speed advantages until the Web Interface is finally up to snuff.
As for the problem above, will this be corrected in a future patch?
You can delete any Volume or Interface that is not under the Node in List Resources by going into Settings> Manage Nodes and expand out the Node, select the Volume or Interface that is not showing up in List Resources and select Delete
Happy to Sean's solution worked for me.
However, not exactly the most obvious way to do this. Would be much nicer if the "List Resources" page available from the node in question had this same functionality!
I agree. Try marking several hundred ports as unplugable from a list of hundreds of switches.
This UI just does not scale in large environments.
