One of our small sites has 3 x Cisco 3524XL switches connected together using gigastack cables. This effectivley splits a single GBIC slot (gi0/1 in this case) in each switch into 2 connections.
So switch A has link1 to switch B, link2 to switch C.
Switch B has link1 to switch C and link2 to switch A
Switch C has link1 to switch A and link2 to switch B
Our problem is, if say the link between switches A & B goes down then interface gi0/1 stays up as the link to switch C is still good. So when Solarwinds polls the switches all interfaces look ok and they stay green on the map. Anyone got any ideas how to get around this. It's not causing any real problems but it is annoying.
