Hi All,
Firstly sorry if this question duplicates an existing one, if it does feel free to point me in the right direction to the duplicate post, but rest assured I've had a good luck but don't seem to be able to find one
so here goes:
Way back when we upgraded from ESX 3.5 to vSphere 4.0 I looked to see if NPM supported monitoring my hosts using SNMP. From my searches I noted the change in SNMP architecture between ESX 3.5 and VSphere 4 and the fact that NPM wasnt yet at the stage whereby it fully "integrated" for want of a better word.
Now at the time, I read and followed various posts quoting the RC of NPM 10 would offer improved integration/support, but now that NPM 10 is in release I dont see any updates to previous quotes directing people in the right direction as to how this needs to be configured.
Can someone please help?
I basically need something that points me in the right direction to get my Vsphere environments running ESX 4 Update 2 now, being moitored by NPM as fully as possible.
In addition I have a couple of ESXi 4 Update 1 and most recenty 4.1 environemnts that I need to get on the radar too!
Thanks in advance and sorry if I've overlooked something out there that caters for my needs already! FYI I've seen the "Configuring the Net-SNMP Agent on ESX Hosts" doc from VMware but this seems outdated and I wondered if there was something Solarwinds specific that encompasses best practice etc....
