&DataFormat=XLS - Not working on Web created reports

For some reason &DataFormat=XLS does not work on reports that have been maid through the Web GUI, but it does work with reports that have been created using the report writer? Does anyone know if this a known issue or if there is a way to get &DataFormat=XLS to work with the web report writer.
