Orion EOC comunication with Orion Server

How the Orion EOC comunicates with multiples Orion Server that are not conected by VPN? As that is a question very importante for a deal that I have, can someone give detaisl about that? My customer will montor many diferents Orion NPM servers on diferents sites, he want to use Orion EOC and asks how EOC will conected with those Orion servers to get the information.

EOC needs to be able to contact those Orion servers via a TCP connection on port 17777..
