SAM - NetFlow Traffic Analyzer for Servers using SNMP

Hi,

I'm a newbie on SAM and I was studying if we can monitor our applications' NetFlow.

Is there a way to monitor this via SAM? Or is there an existing template to monitor NetFlow via SNMP/Unix-Linux/JMX monitor?

NetFlow provides the ability to collect IP network traffic as it enters or exits an interface.

From What i understand SAM Template for NetFlow monitoring that you are talking about only monitors NetFlow stats if SolarWinds Network Traffic Analyzer is existing in your environment.

Plus NTA only works with NPM (NPM is a pre-requisite for NTA). Hence if you are actually trying to capture NetFlow details and statistics, that wouldn't be possible without having NPM and NTA in your environment, you will need these 2 additional modules to be installed.

NPM and SAM is available in our Solarwinds. I found this template in Application Monitor for Netflow Traffic Analyzer but only works for WMI and RPC. Im looking for a way to use this for nodes using SNMP as well

I am assuming this template (Application Monitor for Netflow Traffic Analyzer) will monitor your NTA module and stats for the same if NTA is present in your environment. Is it the same thing that's mentioned in the below link?

If we can monitor our applications' NetFlow - I don't think you can, that application monitor that you are talking about has nothing to do with your requirement, rather its used to monitor the NTA module.
