Is there an easy way to suppress downstream device alerts for 250+ locations?

We need to suppress down stream devices for 250 locations.

The locations have the same naming conventions. Is it possible with or without MAPS?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: There is no built-in capability of Orion to suppress downstream devices since it really doesn't know how they are situated relative to each other. This has been a long-standing request to have Orion include some level of "intelligence" in this regard. SolarWinds has indicated it's on the roadmap but we don't know whether that's in five months or five years. In the meantime, there have been some suggestions to use custom properties to accomplish this. However, from what I remember, this solution required you to create an alert for each of your sites so in your case, we're talking about 250+ alerts.
