What is the staus of the Network services monitoring plugin to Solarwinds? If I have the name wrong forgive me but I am talking about the ability to poll/monitor webservers via HTTP/Port 80, or FTP, DNS etc etc.

Application monitoring is not what I had in mind. AppMon management pack monitors processes on a Windows or *nix box. It's more of a process watching program then network service monitoring. For instance Application monitor can watch the "inetinfo.exe" (IIS Process) on a windows machine. What I am looking for is something that will monitor port 80 (http), port 443 (SSL), port 21 (FTP) which are the network ports opened by IIS. More specifically to see if web pages are being served, or that the FTP server is accepting connections. Simply watching the "inetinfo.exe" process does not necessarily mean that IIS is working properly and actively serving pages to users or allowing FTP connections. This is the reason for the Network Services Management Pack (if that's what SolarWinds is actually calling it)

I am also awaiting release. This will be a big hit for me since it will better represent service level performance

The addition of this would be great and would push Orion more and more into a server monitoring tool rather then a network monitoring tool. Somemore addtions;
LDAP walk validation
SQL query validation
Windows Logs alerter
