EMC Isilon Showing Up As Non-EMC device after Upgrade

Our Storage team just upgraded our Isilons from 7.2.1.2 to 8.0.0.4 and since then we have been having issues polling it with Storage Manager (SRM (with HF2) and the Profiler). I just noticed the node in NPM is no longer polling volumes and that it is being recognized as a Fraunhofer Fokus device. I tried to run a list resources and it didn't seem to help. Any idea what is going on and why it is showing it as a completely different device?

Same issue here. In our case the Isilon device was upgraded and suddenly reported itself as machine type Fraunhofer FOKUS. The OID changed as a result of the upgrade.

I saw in another article where SRM was receiving and error that caused the issue but we do not currently utilize SRM.

I would think EMC would need to put out a patch for this.

Yes! We are currently having this same exact issue! Updated to 8.0.0.4 on our EMC Isilon's and both are showing as unreachable in NPM. We have our arrays added in via SRM. SRM test's the connection and shows everything as fine, but then lists it as unreachable. Extremely odd. I did also notice we now have a "Fraunhofer FOKUS" device as well.

Was there a resolution to this? I'm having the same issue. We had a workaround to get the Machine Type to report correctly in NPM, which was to change the cluster's SNMP config file back to the Isilon OID (had a webex with EMC to do this). But that didn't fix monitoring as a whole because listing resources brings up a whole ton of memory modules that aren't helpful for monitoring.

You'll want to open up a ticket with support and let them know. They have a hotfix they can send that resolved this issue for me.

Is this issue occuring only with SRM or NPM as well? I have our Isilon's monitored and showing as Frankhofer FOKUS as well but I would like to see if i can get more stats.

I'm on NPM 12.3 and it is showing Frankhofer Fokus.
