My cusomer has several Avaya Midspan devices. He would like to monitor this device for the power details.
Can anyone specify what can be monitored on this device and where do I get the SNMP MIBS for this device?
kishorepr,
The following comes from http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3621.html:
The pethPsePortTable defines the objects used for configuring and describing the status of ports on a PSE device. Examples of PSE devices are Ethernet switches that support power Ethernet and mid- span boxes.
Also, those MIBs are already in the SolarWinds database. If you don't see them when you are browsing, make sure and get the latest MIB database update from your customer portal at http://www.solarwinds.com/customerportal/.

Thank you Jason for pointing out towards the RFC 3621 - POWER-ETHERNET-MIB. I did manage to do an SNMP walk on the device and the sysObjectID.0 is reported as .1.3.6.1.4.1.7428.3.1.
Also, intrestingly, there is no data reported on the standard RFC 3621 mib instead the similar information is available under a different OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.7.20.1.1.
The above OID is also referred to as pethPsePortTable. This actually comes under mib-2.transmission.dot3.powerEthernetMIB.pethObjects. I believe that this mus be a very old device that Avaya does not support.
I did manage to investigate this but havent bee able to source private MIBS for the device with the above mentioned sysObjectID.
