Create a daily email report for syslog by severity

We would like to be able to receive a daily email containing :-

A report containing all Emergency syslog messages received in last 24 hours

A report containing all Alert syslog messages received in last 24 hours

A report containing all Critical syslog messages received in last 24 hours

Cant see any obvious way of doing this within report writer... Custom SQL report ?

I would be grateful for any links, or suggestions....

Apologies if this is an FAQ - am new to Orion and couldn't find anything relevant in the forums...

This is pretty easy to do with Report Writer. I just clicked on New and then selected Syslog Messages.

Then I just put in the following fields for Select Fields

Then I selected the following for Filter Results (this will show me all the Error syslogs.

And then I just set the Time Frame for the last 24 hours.

So in your case, just create 3 reports, one for each of the severities you're interested in.

Then go into Schedule Manager and schedule your report to run each day and email you the results.
