How can I Rediscover a node in new version 9.5

Bummer,

Now that Solarwinds is doing away with System Manager and heading towards an all web based version, we are in danger of losing the Service Manager interface alltogether. Which anyone who uses this tool alot in a fairly large enviornment should be up in arms about, managing a large infrastructure and database only through the web interface relying on ie performance and web page refreshes is very frusterating.

Anyway the imediate problem I have is with the newest version how can I rediscover a node? It seems the only way currently is to delete and then readd unless I am missing something.

So does this now have to be a two step process now?

OK so I found how to do it now through the web interface, but jeese what a pain. You have to go to the "Manage Nodes" view first, then find the node you want to remanage. In my case since we literally have thousands of nodes this takes a bit of searching.

I tried using multiple "Group by" options, but couldn't drill down close enough to it to make it easy, So I selected by "Device Type" (wait for screen to refresh here) then on Switches (wait for screen refresh here) then I have to scroll through multiple screens (1 of 10) and of course the node I need is on like screen 4 or 5 or something, so I have to keep clicking on next and waiting for screen refreshes everytime before I finally get to the node I want.

No I can select the node, click on "More Actions and sellect "rediscover"

Im not happy about losing SM either, as I have 20k+ elements. However, I have accepted fate and become accustomed to the webview. I did so by intelligent custom property grouping, (and over grouping) and learning to use wildcards when searching for nodes. It has actually in the end made me more familiar with my network, as I have naming schemes and IP's memorized a lot better.

Yeah I can see the writing on the wall here too, just a bummer that's all. The time required to administer this product just went up significantly. I'll have to do even more in Custom Property editor oh joy.
