We currently monitor our redhat/ centos estate using an agentless configuration. We have been doing testing installing an agent on a clean system and can see the value an agent delivers within improved interface monitoring and disk IO etc.
I was wondering what approach you guys may have followed for getting a agent installed on a linux system if it is already monitored in an agentless config. Unfortunately doing the deployment from within the console i cant follow due to user account permissions in our environment. So was interested to see if someone installed the agent manually using the yum install instructions as outlined:

would i then be able to change the polling on that server to get it managed as an agent?
I will be testing the approach myself over the next few weeks, but was interested for your experiences.
