I have been asked to monitor the availability of some Isilon Shares. I have tried the Windows File Share, Windows Directory monitors. File Existence Monitor and created a PowerShell Script using test-path. The templates provided by Solarwinds and the one s I have downloaded form Thwack expect the share to be a mapped drive and to exists on location tested. An Isilon share exists when the user enters the path. This has prevented the monitors from successfully testing the path. The results returned always indicate the Isilon Share is not available. The PowerShell Script errors with PermissionDenied UnauthorizedAccessIssue. I was wondering if anyone had any success with monitoring Isilon Shares or any UNC Shares. I think the UNC is an issue, as this link below suggests. I wanted to find out if anyone has success with the monitoring UNC Shares.
