NPM Mass SNMP String Change

I have a little over 5000 nodes that I need to change the SNMP RO string. I have looked all over thwack and I see it can be done in the manage nodes screen (I am running v10.3), and I like how it will tell you which ones have failed. However I have to take them in small chunks or it will timeout and that will take a LONG time. I see that I can update the DB directly, but is there an easy way to tell which ones will fail SNMP. We are in the process of changing them all and I would like to give my techs a report with which ones have been missed so they can fix them.

On another note I have quite a few discovery profiles, how can I update the strings that they will search with the new one (and remove the old one)? Is there a master SNMP string list somewhere that I can update?

Do you have NCM? You could do a report which checks all the configs to see what the community string is?

I dont have NCM, but we have another configuration change/backup tool. I can use that to make sure they are up to date but I am looking for a way to make sure NPM has the right string for each device. Once I get my side all fixed they will remove the old strings, so I need to confirm that NPM is talking with the new string.

easiest way is go to into the Custom Property editor, click the Settings button, and add "Community" to the list of displayed fields. Then you can export the list of nodes to a file (Excel, text, csv) that have the machine name, IP, etc and also the SNMP RO community string.
