Orion navigation at top level on v12

When you click a top-level menu in v11 - such as "Applications", "Configs" or "Web" Orion paints up the Summary page for that module, but on v12 there is no link from the top level menu, only from the contents of its pop-up menu-bar. Expanding the dashboard gives an approximation to the v11 functionality because the top-level menu is now invisible, but with a lot of modules installed it is a huge menu area.

Most of the time I would flit around summary screens before diving into a chain of diagnosis and having links-to-summary-pages available from the top-level menu would save a lot of re-positions & re-clicks.

robertcbrowning​ I believe the menu bar for NPM 12 was designed to accommodate mobile device users, as well as traditional desktop users.

You are correct, being able to accomplish this by expanding the menu, and clicking the heading for the module you would like to open.

You can also do the same with the collapsed version of the menu, however, just not on the actual menu part of the menu... if that makes any sense... You still need to hover into the menu, and then click the heading.

I know this has been brought up before, by several others, which is how I know the "mobile device usage" played a part of the design. I will try to find that post, and add a link to this post, since we are referencing similar content.

I am definitely in the same boat as you here, as I also found that top level navigation extremely useful.

Perhaps you could make mention to meech​ or ashley.orr​, and see if they have any further insight for you.
