If you wanted a live map then the built in one is MapQuests open street maps and I cannot see any options to changing that to google maps.

You can find that in All Settings -> Manage World Map.

If you were happy with static background then you could use snipping tool to get the relevant sections of Google maps and use them as backgrounds in the Network Atlas to generate the normal maps.

Probably not the answer you were hoping for and I hope some one else chimes in with a different answer ...
