Log syslog alerts to network map drive
tgoyette
Is there a way to set up a rule to log alerts to a text file on a network map drive? When I point the rule to a file on the local hard drive the rule works fine but when I point the rule to a mapped drive it quits working.

Windows mapped drives are not connected when the user is logged out, so if you are writing to a drive letter it would not work. You might be able to try UNC pathing \\{servername}\{sharename}\, not sure if the alert tool allows it though.
Either way you will probably need to make sure that the permissions on the share allows access for the account running the Orion/Syslog Services or Grant Everyone permissions to write to the file.
