Wireless device was not found in database!

I tried to add the "Active Wireless Clients" resource to my Wireless Controller view ("Wireless Controllers - Reports and Charts for Wireless Controllers" - "Active Wireless Clients". The problem I'm seeing is when I go to my Wireless LAN Controller and look at the "Active Wireless Clients" resource on the page, all it displays is the error "Wireless device was not found in database!" I'm stumped.

Yeah I just added our two WLCs to Orion. The first one worked fine at first. All the APs that it controlled show up in wireless list. Then, they all just suddenly disappeared from list. They still appear as interfaces on the first WLC, but they never update. The second WLC doesn't work at all. I get the exact same error message as you.

I got it working again. Try deleting the wlc in the Orion System Manager and then re-adding it. Everything is now displaying properly.

I deleted all my Wireless LAN Controllers and re-added them but that did not resolve the error "Wireless device was not found in database!"

I upgraded to 9.5 SP1 and now none of my WLCs show up in the Wireless Summary view.

I've seen a post that suggests deleting and re-adding all your WLCs in NPM, but then you will lose all your historical data.

I'm going to try this to see if it repopulates the Wireless Summary View.

Was this ever resolved outside of deleting the WLC from NPM and adding it back in? I am having this issue with 1 of 3 WLC's and really do not want to lose the historical data.

*edit* I am running Cisco WLC's and all 3 are added in as nodes in NPM. 2 of them display their "thing access points" just fine. 1 of them does not, displaying the exact same error that the OP stated.

I'm now getting this as well on 10.0. The fact that this keeps cropping up, even as NPM is "upgraded", is rather disturbing and suggests that someone needs to look at how the database is being handled by the application...

I'm also getting the same results when I add the "Active Wireless Clients" resource found under the "Wireless Controllers - Reports and Charts for Wireless Controllers" heading to the Wireless Controller view.

I'm going to open a case with support now.

I have gotten this error as well when I PtoV'd my Orion Server. If this was the case you can run this to fix the issue:

Update WebSettings
Set SettingValue = 'ServerName'
Where SettingName = 'JobSchedulerHost'
