Map status in custom HTML

Is there a way to display a map status "indicator" in custom HTML (the red/green button)?
I would like to create a custom HTML list of hyperlinks that link to custom views. Each view has a map so I would like to display a map status indicator next to each hyperlink.
I think this could be done with another map but that is more difficult to admin.
Thanks to mullinsm for that code posted under "Displaying website in frames". It's perfect for displaying What's Up maps in SolarWinds.
