Hi,
How would I go about calculating the total job weight and polling rate for X nodes based on a 2 minute polling interval?
It's not really something that can be calculated with regards to live impact, as factors such as poller compute resource, network bandwidth available and so on will all feed in to what your pollers can handle. In NPM, the theoretical limit for the number of elements is officially 8,000 (from the Quick Start Guide), but 12K is the nominal limit before you'll start seeing automatic drops in polling rate and potential impact on polling completion percentages.
Generally, if you're within the 12K element "limit" (CPU, RAM, individual interfaces, each volume AND individual application components per node all count as one element each), you should be good.
DISCLAIMER: The above is based on the default polling intervals.
Thanks I suspect I will need to take a look at additonal pollers....
No problem! APE's are the main way to expand your polling potential with SolarWinds. They're pretty easy to deploy, choosing where best to put them in your network is the challenge
Take a look at this for a deployment guide:

and this for port requirements (same as NPM/SAM etc for monitoring of devices/applications and so on, but you need to look at the ports between the APE and the database)
