Trigger condition - complex conditions missing "OR" logic operator

Hi all,

In my company we have a oversized WAN, and my goal to request this feature is to exclude excess of alerts.We have alerts divided by departments, each location with its alert for nodes down.
In the trigger condition, complex conditions, it just has the options "AND", "AND THEN AFTER".
Is it possible to include an "OR" on that field?

With this feature we could, for example,

trigger an alert the nodes when one goes down OR trigger an alert when an AP (under the WLC) go down.

I imagine you'd have to create a SQL based alert to get the desired output here. Then you could add all of this into the query.

I tried making this query with swql. I think it has the tables you would need and would have the conditions you are looking for. Wasn't able to test this at all so definitely test it to see if this gets what you are looking for.

Note in the trigger condition the Select and from will be done for you but you can adjust the joins and where statements to work with the grey area you cannot edit.

You could create a group with the two as members. Set the group status rollup to worst case. Create an alert for the group. If one member of the group is down, the whole group is down so an alert configured for a down group would catch this.

d09h my have a better solution for you. I attached a screenshot of the query with some adjustments. had to replace n with nodes and I'm not entirely certain it will grab what you want.

Edit: the third join should be inner join Orion.Packages.Wireless.AccessPoints as ap on ap.NodeID = we.NodeID

Now it's valid, but isn't giving any output.

My thought is that the department condition is not granular enough.
I tried with only "where (n.Status ='2' and ncp.Department like '%LAB')" and it's not working as well.

I already have those dependencies, but only for specific WAN device.

I want to be more keen and granular on this one.
